I think i will name it total oblivion.
Still not quite with it today.
The vapour that was riseing from it when i made it was a proper sinus clearing smell similar to the vicks nasal tubes.
Love it.Super skunk bubble hash never thought one day i would be producing my own.
The bud smoke it self is very good but this is off the scale but it may well register on the Richter scale.

Well i finally got my bubble bags and made some hash.
Had a few joints last night and can honestly say whilst it is a bit harsh on the lungs the stone is like having a frontal lobotomy.
I have only ever been as stoned as that on a few occasions during my 30 years plus of smokin.
Rather than doing several different grades i just used the work bag and ran it through the the 25 micron bag.
Absolutely devastating smoke and something i will look forward to doing again in the not to distant future.
Got about 13 grams but it goes a long way as you do not need to load your biftas its that potent.

Good morning CK i hope you are well.
Just got my new trimmer last night and i am well pleased with it.
All the small buds from the bottom of the bushy buggers i had went through it last night and it literally took 10 minutes.
Pity i did not have it at the start of harvest time.
All together just shy of 14 ounce which is ok but not good enough.
Need to do a few alterations to the tent set-up ,give her a good old scrub down and get the next lot in there.
As usual i will be changing things as regards how many i will be growing and at what size i flip as well as trying ionic nutes alongside advanced nutes.
Hows things with you at the moment?i hope all is well.

I have just bought a trimmer at £160 and now waiting on delivery.
Got 10 ounces off the first cut now have to see what the smaller buds give me after going through the trimmer.

Weekly update,White label super skunk grown in DWC using advanced nutrients.
I have just done the first part of a two part harvest taking all the main heads and removing the top third of the plants.
I did this last friday when the plants were 54 days since flip to 12/12.
It is clear to see that the small buds that were buried deep in the plants but that are now at the tops are swelling.
I will be doing the second phase either later this week or at the start of next week.
Trimming really does my back in and i have been looking at trimming machines but the prices are ridiculas,a spin pro trimmer is about £170 i know they will help a great deal and speed trimming up but i just cannot afford one.
Do any of you guys know any similar devices that do a good job but are a little or prefably a lot cheaper.
I will post some photos up within a week or so.
As always any comments or advice is most welcome.

Yes I use bubble bags for hash, I got a nice big ball of scissor hash from the trimming sessions as well %3co%20high

If you don't mind a bit of manual labor and some icy cold water, I do recommend bubble bags; considering how much they have saved me in hash expenses during the past two years I would say they are one of the best purchases I have ever made %3chumbs%20Up

Thank you for your interest in my grow, after hash making is done and the buds are completely dried and cured I will update my diary with final weights and smoke reports.

I wish we had a better climate here for outdoor grows but the summers are becoming worse year after year.
Did you use bubble bags for the hash or some other method?
I need to get my self some bubble bags so i can have some nice hash for over Christmas.

Yes leaving the bottom buds to fatten up makes sense in that regard as well, makes the extra effort worth it somewhat. For me, the majority of the bottom buds still ended up in the hash bin eventually, but what I kept from the bottom had gone from mediocre to good quality bud. The trim was quite the ordeal though. I had three friends helping me and it still took us four 8-hour sessions to get the job done. Another 6 hours has been spent on hash making up to now and only a third of the trim has been processed. But the yield is quite impressive both for hash and for dried bud.

One reason apart from the hope of a yield increase is a bit of a break in the trimming as it does get a bit tedious in the bottom of bushy plants.
I cannot imagine haveing to trim up all that of yours it must be a bit daunting to look at all that knowing you have all that labour in front of you.but needs must.

Hey 66 , I recently chopped down my plants in two stages and here's what I did, I don't know if it was the best thing to do, but it was what I thought I should do:

I flushed and stopped feeding a week before earliest possible harvest according to trichs and pistils, then harvested about 40% off the top of the plants, then fed the plants for ten days, flushed again, watered a week, harvested the rest.

I am inclined to say I am happy with the results: The airy buds on the bottom had definitely fattened up some in between the two harvests, the large buds had gotten even larger.

On top of that, the workload for each harvest/manicure session was halved; which was a relief as you can imagine and also the two batches from the same plant give noticeably different highs; the first ones are more energetic while the subsequent ones are of a more narcotic type, I like them all.

EDIT: Mind you, I did this in peat moss. Feeding-wise, it is a bit different from DWC because of peat moss' ability to store a small amount of nutrients in itself and release it after the flush. This means the window between your flush and harvest should be smaller by a couple of days in my opinion.

The amount of lower tiny buds is unbelievable so i think i will be going for a two stage harvest and probably remove about a third of the plant with the first cut.
I do not think it can do any harm to give it a whirl as otherwise the majority will end up in my trim again.
A few more weeks to go yet and i expect these to yield well they are roughly 40 inches tall and probably 30 wide and if i can get the lower buds to put on a little weight while i dry and manicure the first cut i think i will be very happy with the final result.
I need to be getting up towards the gram per watt otherwise i need to be changing things again but if i can have a dozen clones ready i still aim to grow twelve next time and compare yields.

I've never done it.

I have kind of done a two stage harvest, well I've had bud rot before, so i chopped off the tops and kept the rest in the tent for a couple more weeks and she didn't notice it at all, if anything the lower buds increased in size.

But that was chopping off the top without giving a flush. with adding a flush then I don't know if they'd be fine or not?

I have read about people doing 2 part crops but they never go into any great detail about the technique so i am a bit wary of doing it but that does not mean i'm not going to do it.
My last grow one of the plants was a tad bushier than these and the amount of lower buds that i just put in with my trim as they were just to small really to do anything else with was unbelievable.
I will continue looking about for any more info i can gather on the subject.
Have you done it before or was it your first time,contemplated it,then decided against it?

One question for those of you that have tried it but is it possible and worth while to harvest a plant in stages? taking off all the top and side mature buds and so letting more light get to the smaller buds that are lower or buried under the denser foliage?

I was not planning on not changing the res altogether just about every 4 weeks as they are 30 days 12/12 and seem to be doing well.
What i will do is get the temp of the refill as close as possible to the one being replaced.
God knows i need assistance with just about everything i do being as thick as a plank.

Is is indeed a smart move to keep a close watch over your pH and EC (ppm). It can save you from a lot of trouble and also keep your ladies thriving constantly. However, those measurements do not tell the whole story about what is going on in your nutrient solution and therefore should not be the basis for abandoning reservoir changes altogether. Still I would try to keep the reservoir changes to an absolute minimum.

And BTW if plants are given the proper nutrients at the proper time, they can withstand a variety of environmental problems such as high temperatures with little change in their growth rate. For example, during hot days the plants' need for Potassium increases; if that need is met, they will tolerate the heat easily otherwise they will start to show signs of stress. These types of nutrient solution manipulation techniques are especially easy for hydro growers to implement and are really simpler than they sound. For example, a small bag of SOP (Sulphate of Potash) is dirt cheap and is a great source of highly soluble and readily available Potassium and Sulfur and is very useful in situations where you need to increase only the Potassium content rather than increasing the dosage on your whole feed which will probably not have the same effect.

Sorry for the long post, you seem to be the type of person who likes to experiment and I admire the attitude so I will try my best to assist you should you decide to try new things.

I do check the ppm and ph every couple of days and if the ppm is to high i just adjust it with plain water to the required level.
Changeing the res every week and the high tempretures on my first grow accounted i think to a little of a smaller harvest than would of been the case.

I'm following your work with great interest as DWC is a kind of setup I can easily implement is my space and am considering it for a future grow. You have done an excellent job in your latest grow and I'm quite sure that the next one will be even better.

The idea of topping up the nutrient solution as opposed to completely changing it makes sense as I believe plants generally respond to gradual changes much better than they do to sharp ones. As you know i am one for trying different things and so if i grow any as bushy as this in the future i think i will prune a lot of the foliage to allow a little more light through to the lower parts of the plants.
The top plant is drinking about 12 litres a week and the other two are taking about 8-9 so i think they are gonna end up a descent size i just hope i don't have any problems between now and harvest.

The bucket the plants are sat in as they are DWC rather than changing the ressovoir [the nutes in the buckets] i have just been topping them up with fresh nutes.
I think the issue i may of had with my first grow was the change of the water tempreture when changing the nutes shocking them a bit.
Well whatever it was these seem to be doing a lot better.

Hello i hope everyone had a good weekend.
White label super skunk 28 days since flip and their starting to fill out a bit and are starting to frost up nicely.
They range in height from 35 inches to 38 inches and seem to be quite healthy looking up till now so fingers crossed they carry on doing well.
I really need to get my next set of clones ready but my mother doesn't look so healthy as we were away for a week and i think she dried out a little to much as she is a fair size.
One of the major changes i have made on this grow is not changing the water in the buckets but just topping them up and they seem to have thrived because of it but it remains to be seen if i get any issues with the plants because of this.
As always any advice is much appreciated

Well another week gone and their continuing to bud up nicely and are now 21 days since the flip to 12/12.
As you can see they are a nice bushy threesome and there is also a smaller one buried in amongst them.
So far so good but the final yield is the best judge of how i have done and thats at least a month off.

Well lets hope so but i am still not filling the space with these 4 but at least the lower parts should get a little more light and as usual i will be changing things with the next grow if i can get the amount of clones i want i will be growing 12 not topping them and flipping them at about 16-18 inches.

Morning all.
White label super skunk clones using advanced nutes in DWC under a 600watt dual spec hps
So here i go again growing in DWC from clones,,.
They look a lot healthier than my first grow and as you know i am one for trying new things so this time i flipped them to 12/12 at 18 inches high and all 3 were topped and i also have a small untopped one to see how she fairs in comparison.
They are 14 days of 12/12 and stand roughly 28 inches tall.

Morning Mellow.
The soil grown one i did untold damage to and actually had to lose a quarter of the plant as the main stem split into 4 as i was trying to lst it.so getting 174 grams off her was a very pleasant surprise.
She did not have a main cola but about 30 smaller heads were the bulk of her yield came from so it would of been really interesting to see what she would of yielded had she not been a amputee plus she only stood about 3 feet tall.
A lot of the lower buds were not worth bothering with at all so i put them in with the trim so the bubble hash i intend to make around xmas time should be some real nice smoke but that depends on whether santa brings me some bubble bags.

Its been a long time coming but i eventually got there.
White label super skunk feminised 2 in dwc and one in soil.The two in dwc ended up at roughly 24 inches and yielded 93 grams of dry bud and the soil one which was topped twice and used for taking clones 174 grams.
The smoke is about as good as anything i have ever smoked apart from oil and to say i happy is a under statement seen as how i only really used about half of my 1,2x1.2 tent space.
Been stoned to feck since and thats why i have taken so long to getting round to posting this.
Lastly i would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to all the people here who have answered my questions and given me invaluable advice along the way as there is no way i would have got through without your kind help.
I already have the next lot under the hps for a couple of weeks of veg before i flip them by which time i think they will be roughly 24 inches as i did not quite have the number of clones ready that i would of liked.

Yes i had a very pleasant memorable evening and the two that i chopped were flipped at about 14 inch but did not really gain much in height or width really being as they were clones.
I have 4 topped clones ready and another 6 coming along nicely but i really want a new mother in DWC which i will do once these go into 12/12.
Its a very long time since i have bought anything as potent as this and like you say it will only get better.
I will give a full summary of the grow in a week or so and obviously say a big thank you to all the folk who helped me make it through.

I take the fan leaves off, let em dry, then trim off the trim. And you are right it's a ball-ache. I've worked it out that I trim about an oz per hour, lol.

About the flipping height, I always said to people flip them at 12", but i never measure my plants, I now know that I must veg them to at least 18" so I think that's a good plan.

Your bud will improve in flavour over the next couple of days, as it gets the shite out of the leaves.

And the fact it Knocked ya for 6 doesn't suprise me, even the weekest bud I've grown has been better than the local shite.

Its not quite dry enough yet so the final yield i guess would be around 90 grams but the smoke i had of it last night left me more of a slavering idiot than i usually am,stoned to feck and well worth all the effort.
I only used up roughly half the space that is available in my tent so this next run i will probably run ten plants all in dwc and flip when their about 18 to 24 inches,well thats the plan any way.
Just waiting on my new air pump and i will be felling the largest one tomorrow which i am looking forward to but i must admit i never imagined the trimming of the buds would be such a tedious job.
I am feelin a bit brain slapped this morning.

I weighted several buds and the colas when freshly cut and then checked them daily until they were a little less than 25% of their starting weight but they dried a bit quicker than i expected at just over 4 and a half days.

Hello all i hope everyone is well.

White label feminised super skunk grown in dwc with advanced nutrients.
When checking on the plants Sunday night i noticed my air pump for the two little ones had packed up so i ended up felling them a little earlier than i would of liked on Monday morning making them53 days of 12/12.
Dried them to 25% of their original weight and have ended up 102 grams off what were only 22 inch high plants, so all in all as a test run they give me a good idea what i can accommodate in my flower area and what i can expect in yield.
Will be having my first smoke of it tonight so that should be very interesting.
Still got their soil grown mother to cut this weekend and she will have gone 61 days by then and i am looking forward to her.
Itching to get my next lot of clones into 12/12 now.

Sorry I should have been clearer about the flush, what I meant was just play it by ear, if they are yellowing after a couple of days, then stop, if not keep going. I did flush a plant for 11 days, and she didn't yellow at all, cropped her and she was nice.

Morning guys i think i may be right in saying that Alecky uses a dry screen hash system so maybe you could elaborate about your technique Alecky but i would not know a shop local to me were i could get the screen material.
I'm flushing them for so long Mellow as i have read in several places that if you feel they have been over fed which i think i have with these you should give them about a week of a flush.
Their mother that i am flowering and in soil is yellowing up and she is still being fed but like i said i think she is a good week behind the two DWC even though they were flipped at the same time.
The two DWC will probably get the chop mid week as they have already had a few days of just ph'd water.

But the bubble sends ya to the moon, and it's real easy to make.

Trust me when I say pay an extra 5er or what ever to get the 5 bags, run it through with 2 till you want to try to split it :)

My first couple of runs, I would have sworn blind that a 10 day plain water to run off is ideal. But the last couple of runs, 4 days and they are yellowing so I've cropped them and they've been fine.

I think as long as they aren't dried out too fast then they will have a decent flavour.

Hello all i hope everyone is hunky dory.

White Label super skunk at 49 days 12/12 in DWC each stand approximately 23 inches tall and are just about done so i have just started flushing which i will do for about the next 7 days or so.
As usual the pictures are shitty but it gives you a idea.
The mother of these two is in soil and strung up in the tent but she looks to be about a week behind these two.
As always any comments and advice is much appreciated.

The plants are both 22 inches i've just measured them and their mother is 34 inches but bushy about the size of 10 of the 22 inch ones.
Just got back from the hospital and now have to wait to have MRI scans done,
our bed is only about 3 months old and is supposedly for bad backs i have had back problems for over twenty years but this time it has been a doozy,I hope your back stays healthy and your last problem was your last.

How tall are you're plants from pot to tip? I was looking back a few pages and couldn't find it?

I would recommend the set anyway, I won't keep bleating on about the different grades, but they are there if you need them and don't take any extra work.

I will probably be getting a set of the cheap 5 gallon sets, but like i said just using the work bag and the finest for just one grade of hash rather than having a different stone from the different grades.
I would imagine it will blow my socks off but i rarely wear them favouring the wifes stockings.
Just going to the hospital to see what is wrong with my back which has been buggered for about two months i might have to end up with wheel chair access into my tent.

You can buy the replacement "official" bubble bags in singles for $48 so what ever that works out in pounds. You can get a no brand set for 35 squid and just use the 2 bags.

I hope you are right about me being surprised but its all been a learning experience that i have gathered quite a bit of knowledge from.
The next lot will show if i can put what i have learned into practice.
Just trying a few different things as regards cloning at the moment just to see which is the best method for quick roots before putting them in the dwc's.
Been looking at foggers-misters and will probably give one a go very soon.
The mother of the clones is lagging behind the dwc and looks unhealthy in comparison with the size of buds a little behind as well.
I have seen youtube vid's were they use cal-mag in dwc but they were using RO water.

your going to be laughing mate also those spots on,
your leaves at the stage in life they are in is probebly,
a little magnesium or calcium defficiancy especialy in hydro dwc mate,
us coco growers get it from time to time and need to pop
a bit of calmag in. but its very minimal in your case and at your stage its not a big problem if you wanted to be fussy,
you could correct it but hey just keep an eye on it
i do know that advanced nutrients advise a calmag supplement
with most of the nutrient line so worth a read on it
ive yet to buy some because its never realy goten out of hand,

I don't know about the pinching i am such a heavy handed neanderthal that i would feck em up for sure.
Bloody hell when i flipped the mother to 12/12 i was doing some LST and split her main stem into 4 so had to zip tie her main stem together , in fact the zip tie is still on her but basically a 1/4 of the plant died off so i had to remove it so you see what i mean when i keep goin on about these plants being so hardy.
I will always listen to advice especially off someone with a lot more experience than me i would be a fool not to.

No don't take my advise, I'm all for doing as little as possible, lol.

The best method for small plants that i have seen, was a friend who, grows his clones, then tops them, gets 8 heads. Whilst they are recovering from the topping, he looks to see which of the 8 look the best, then removes the 4 worst heads.

four cains in each pot, tie each main cola to each cain. first week of flipping to 12/12, strip away all the lower plant matter, so you are just left with the four heads.

He had 25 10ltr pots jammed into the same size tent as yours, each plant giving 1-1.5oz.

He also used a technique called "pinching" where he will pinch(squeeze) the stems of the faster growing clones so they all end up the same height.

The width on these little ones is about 12 inches so i was thinking they would not gain much in width being a foot taller and i was thinking of lolli popping the next batch as well.
If i could get 1.5 or 2 oz a plant doing 12 that would be 18oz to 24oz but that is the plan it remains to be seen if i can get anywhere near that.
I know i am not going to get much off these first ones but its my first bash and i just wanted to get to know the ropes a little before trying to progress to much more worthwhile yields.

Under the 600 in your tent, you should be able to do 6 giving back 3oz each.

Or be aiming for a yield of 18-20oz per grow.

The biggest yields I've had have when they have been healthy through veg, in flower they seem to look after themselves.

I was going to do a load of small plants, but I got worried with the numbers, I bet you can yield back the same from 4 seedlings as you can from loads of clones.

the other thing that has put me off little ones(anything under 3foot) is the lower buds are abysmal, if you do a big plant, even the pop corn buds are dense.

The other thing i have noticed is the plants width doesn't seem to be in proportion with it's height. Or we only have x amount of floor space, and the 2 foot plants(without a trim) take up nearly as much space as a 5 foot plant, but don't yield anywhere near the same.

Yep its the yellowing of the fan leaf i was talking about.
Because my canopy is so uneven the cool tube is about 14 inches above the two little ones.
They are bonny looking little critters but if they do not yeild enough i will have to go for a lesser number of bigger plants to what i was planning.I'm not expecting much off the two dwc, like i say its more of a experiment i was planning to go for about 12 and grow them to about the 30 inch mark.

The yellowing on the photo's shown, I'm 90% certain that it is from your reflector. Or from my last couple of grows, the plants in a certain position in my tent get them.

Looks like it's just on the top of the leafs, so burn marks from the reflector.

I know plants are meant to start to yellow towards the end of flowering but do you think that the yellowing in this photo is anything other than that?


The two dwc ones are only 22 inches high and are more of a test run to see how many plants i can accommodate but it remains to be seen whether i will be altering my plans of having about a dozen plants of a similar size to these.

Lovely plants kph, they will for sure fatten up in the last couple of weeks, I grew a good few super skunks and i found around 60 days of 12/12 to be ideal, some come in a little earlier but all benift from the extra few days.

Hard to tell if that's a male flower, i would think it's a mature pre flower, whats it look like, is there 2 hairs coming out of it or a little ball on a stem? A few of the side branches on the large lady already seem to be sagging a little so if she is going to be putting weight on i will definitely have to support those at least.

I can not tell if that's a nana or a bud? If it don't look like a pre flower bud, then carefully remove it, it'll probably be a nana.

About weight gain, Most normal un toped plants will stand up on there own unless they are really big for there size. You may/will get a few of the side branches giving way, so you can either prop them with a cane, or tie em to the roof of ya tent.

I only ask as the mother of the clones is a big critter only about 3 feet tall but bushier than a female 70s porn star and if she is to gain a lot in weight i will have to make plans to tie her up.
I've no photos of her as i do not really want to wrestle her out of the tent but she has about two dozen top bud sites on her so i think she is gonna be quite weighty.

Hello all i hope everyone is hunky dory.
White Label Super Skunk clones 34 days of 12/12 in a deep water culture using advanced nutrients.

Not much gains really by the looks of things but they are getting frostier for sure.


Steady gains budding up but as i understand it the big gains are in the final 2/3 weeks


A little concerned about the high lighted area and hoping its not the start of a nana but being as i have never seen one before i would not know,what do you guys think?i think i will have to have a closer look i have only just noticed it when i was resizing the photos.


Sorry for the picture quality but i have a shitty camera and cannot afford a upgrade but you can still see she is looking frostier by the week.

The way i understand it is that they pile on the size and weight in the last couple of weeks so i will be able to gauge better the number of the DWC i will need to run to get the amount of bud i would expect from a 600w setup.
Still need to buy some bubble bags and scales before harvest time.

Hello all.
White Label feminised super skunk.
Another week gone by and their now 28 days 12/12 and budding up slowly but surely.



You can clearly see the size difference between the old mother and its clone.She is probably 10 times the size of her off spring but in the DWC they grew that quick in veg that they are only about 6 inches behind her in height.

All good things come to those who wait or so they say although through my life this has rarely been the case.
To be honest i was just getting things set up the way i wanted them so as to have a conveyor of plants passing through flower and a nice amount of bud available at all times or at least that is the plan.
Harvest time will be here soon enough which i will savour all the more having waited so long.

I seem to remember you saying you were going to grow more in the smaller pots to maximise yield for your space 6.5 instead of the 11 litre..
My plan is to grow more plants basically the same as you but in dwc but always from clones that have vegged for about six weeks so they still end up a good size.

thanks kph, very kind words indeed, super skunk are hardy plants mate
you will love the smoke, and with the nutrients hang in there
because its a fine line, a drop or a squirt between getting it bang on. ive found altering things slighty so if it looks like it needs a bit of N give it a little extra in small doses just remember to subtract in bloom feed whatever you add in grow feed
im looking into getting advanced nutrients jungle juice 3 part system, wich is pretty much mix it how you need it,
ionic is realy good buts its all ive ever used realy,
and was fancying trying advanced nutes lol if we lived near each other we could swap for a bit lol. i will do a little update tomorrow, i flowered my plants small to see how they would perform in 6.5 litre pots im still waiting for the conclusion so far so good though... have a good weekend too mate

Hopefully i have put right what appeared to be a nitrogen deficiency and all will be good from here on.

Just been and given the two DWC 6 ml of sensi grow part A 3.0.0 to each 12 litre pot so i hope this will help with the N deficiency.

I am using advanced nutes and in the DWC my EC is 1.9 and my PH is 5.9 could you suggest what i could do apart from upping my nute dose to raise the N level?
I was thinking that the problem with the dwc might have been due to the electric being off for several hours early in flowering so no air pumps or lights and i was hoping in would correct itself.
As always the advice from such a seasoned grower such as yourself is much appreciated.

Hello all
15 days into 12/12 and all seems to be ok.
This plant was grown in soil from seed and has been vegging for about four and a half months and also acting as a mother.
The pictures off my shitty old camera and lack of space in which to take photos do not do her justice i think she is going to really please me with her final yield.



These two below are the two that are in a deep water culture and are clones off the soil grown one above.I think they have suffered a tad as there was a power outage about a week ago for 4 hours so obviously there was no air pumps and lights.



They are all fed advanced nutes sensi bloom A+B

One of the best bits of advice i would give to any new grower would be to ask for advice if you do not know something as i did and you will receive expert advice from all the friendly members here.
I doubt i would have come close to getting were i am now if it was not for all the kind support.

Yeh i know what you mean i was thinking the same at times but if i think i am capable of doing something i will give it a go.
I presume i got the two stars because of the different things i have tried all be it my first grow.
But one thing i am sure of is that if they had not been such a hardy plant i would have probably failed miserably..Am loving the flowering cycle as i can see new growth every time i check on them and i think the soil grown one is going to be a beast with probably over two dozen heads on her.
I just hope i have the room to accommodate her size.

Cheers, i think i shall like the flowering part of the grow better than the planting seed,taking clones ect ect though i did enjoy those parts as well.
The biggest pain has been the expense of buying the equipment all the learning and the physical part i have thoroughly enjoyed and hopefully will continue to for the rest of my days,
That said i have a way to go yet to complete my first grow and i undoubtedly still have it in me to fuck things up.

Thank feck they are female so now i can uncross my testicles.
With the amount of bud sites appearing and the fact that she is about 5 months from germ i would imagine she will yield a descent amount of bud {he says crossing his testicles again}.
Like i said the two in the DWC are more of a test run but i will be topping the fresh batch of clones i have waiting because they are at about 10 inches tall now so they will get another 30 days of veg,
Then i will put them to flower in anther area before moving them into the tent as soon as these get chopped.
The idea is to have a constant stream going.
Cannot wait to try some home grown produce especially one with such a awesome reputation as super skunk.

Hello all.
A couple of crappy photos taken on my old phone of the largest of the three plants i have put into flower.
Shes been in a compost from day one and is now on a diet of sensi bloom A+B.She stands about 30 inches and is absolutely covered in but sites as i topped her twice and also took about a dozen clones from the top of her.
The other two plants are a bit smaller as they were never touched but were clones in a bubbler then into DWC.
These two stand at about 2 feet tall but are not bushy at all but they are more of a test run ready for the next lot of clones i have waiting.

Hello all i hope everyone is hunky dory.
Eventually got my new grow space with tent setup after probably 40 hours worth of work.
Got the veg area setup then when i was setting up the 2 dwc and a soil grown plant that i intend to flower i snapped two of the upper branches training the soil one so done a quick fix with a cable tie.
Has anyone any experience of trying to fix a damaged plant?how long should i leave the tie on for?

As a noob and this being my first grow the mothers have suffered some abuse at my hands but they have managed to survive.
To be honest i was considering flowering the smaller more compact of the two as i want to keep a mother for clones and is it right that the clones i take from a slow growing mother will also tend to be slow growing?
But as i know very little and you are far more experienced i will take your advice and if i keep the smallest as a mother at least she will not take up valuable space.
I have been working hard at trying to finish my new grow space and get the tent up and get something into 12/12 but as you know sometimes there just aren't enough hours in the day.

Hello all.
Heres a few photos of the two mothers i have and also the root development on the clones in the bubble cloner.I have replaced a few of the cuttings in the cloner with what i considered to be better clones so obviously they are way behind the others which seem to be doing really well.
The one that has been topped twice

The short arse that has been topped once

The root development on the clones.

The clones which are coming along nicely.


I was toying with the idea of flowering one of the mothers but which one do you guys think?
The one in the first photo has been topped twice and the second has been topped once and the second one has always been a slow and very compact plant were as the other if i had not topped it twice would easilly be over a foot taller than its sister.
All advice is much appreciated.

Hello CK i just thought i would put up a few pictures of the root development after 3 and a half days in the bubble cloner.
Before they went in the cloner there was only the start of the rooting process and they were literally about 5mm long and today there is about 4-5 inches hanging out of the 50mm net pot.
I was just holding them back trying to root them in soil but they all now have a desent root system developing.
Less than 20 quid for pump,air stone and bucket and less than 10 minutes to set up you can't go wrong.

it sounds quicker and cheaper in the long run saves on coco/soil etc
just always stuck em in the medium and they usualy root,
but they can be slow rooting somtimes and if theres an easy'r way,

When i moved them out of the propagator tray into the net pots to go in the bubble cloner all the compost fell off so it was easy to see the root formation which there was very little of.
They have been in the bubbler for a couple of days now and on some they have about two inches of roots hanging out of the net pots
From what i have seen they seem to be very good because if a numbty noob like me can get good results anyone can.
DWC looks so easy and the results look very impressive but the results i have seen have come from experianced growers so i might completely balls it up.
Cannot wait to get my new grow area and tent set up as the conditions they are in at the moment are far from ideal and i am surprised they have even managed to survive at all.

I have been busy trying to sort my new grow space and should have it sorted within the next 4-5 days.
I built a bubble cloner and got some cuttings in it a few days ago and they are progressing very nicely.
The next week should see my grow start in earnest as up until now i have just been setting myself up to hopefully have a continuous grow on the go.

The reason i built the bubble cloner was because of the speed at which they seem to root so i can't wait to get some cuttings it it to give it a whirl.Have also been watching tons of videos about deep water culture and how fast they seem to grow so decided to give that a go as well.

Well after nearly 3 weeks in the propagator it looks as though all the clones i took have rooted[i think]as they are all stood up nicely.
I should have my new space shorted this comeing week so i can get my tent set up and get at least one plant under 12 12 600hps.
I have also decided to go with deep water culture and ordered all the tackle i require which was quite cheap really.pumps,air stones,buckets,net pots and sensi grow A+B and bloom A+B for a six plant set up for just less than a 100 quid.
Also built a bubble cloner today cost 15 quid all in and took 15 minutes and thank you Ganja for the advice on that one,just waiting on my ph pen and i will get some cuttings stuck in it.
I will post some pictures up within the next few days when there's something for you guys to look at.
Anyone have any experience with DWC and have any advice it would be much appreciated.

Sickle i was wondering about the misting as when i misted them the first time as soon as they had been cut the leaves seemed to be pinned to the compost and i was also thinking about whether they would send out roots quicker to look for water if there wasn't much available.

I'm going to take 2 cuts of Deadhead OG today from the exact same plant. I think I'll put one in the dark for 24 hrs, the other just in the hothouse under the light, see if I see any change in rooting times, which on this girl is about 7 days. hi kph, i do my cuttings pretty much the bog standard way except i do not mist them as this only causes problems i also keep the rockwool/peat pellets slightly on the dry side after a few days as i find they root faster & more vigorously, i know a lot of people who as soon as there is a root showing whack them in compost but i like to leave them a few days to build up a good root mass then transplant the them. hope this helps

I did see some you tube vids were they kept them in the dark for the first 24 hours and then put them under lights but like i said peoples techniques vary widely.
I am trying to take in as much advice as possible from people who do clone as this is my first attempt.
They do seem to be starting to stand up a little taller and this is 7 days now since i cut them,they have been under the dome since day one but today i opened the vents a tad to start acclimatising them to the grow areas conditions a bit and i will keep a close eye on them to see what if any effect this has.

This is the second time today I've read about someone cloning in the dark. That doesn't make any sense to me.

The plant is pushing out root, using massive amounts of energy. Photosynthesis is still going on in the leaves, while at the same time the cut uses stored sugars from the fans. Deny them that little bit of photosynthesis that they're able to do and I would think you'd get failed clones, or clones that have been severely weakened by the time they root and need a lot of tlc to get back on the move.

My cuts root in a mini-domed hothouse under 24hrs full spectrum 40w floros

I did trim the leaves and yeh i know what you mean about the propagator.
The clones probably ranged 5-7 inches but like i say its all a new experience and something that i should get better at in time.

There is alot of leaf area on what are very small clones. Im not sure about spraying them but certainly keep the humidity at max possible for a bit. As you get into cloning you will find that normal propagators are stupidly small and force you into taking clones that are of a size that puts their survival in doubt. Its annoying, when you look for a better propagator you find that the only ones that are really useful start at about £200. I have often thought that a cheap plastic fish tank might be of use but atm im using soft drink bottles. I tend to open them at least once a day to refresh the air. 
 
Obviously if you want to do hundreds of clones you better get drinking :)

Its just some off the peg potting compost.
The seed tray is about 60mm deep and the cuttings are roughly 30mm into it and they are under a lid under a 85 watt cfl and i used clonex.
I may dissolve a few viagra in some water and see if that makes them stand a bit more erect.
I think a few are starting to pickup but maybe thats just my eyes playing tricks on me,i'm just gonna keep makeing sure they don't dry out and see what happens,you live and learn.

that would work, hold back on the leaf spraying and wait. keep moist with plain ph'd water and you will have enough babies to flower you will see i dont know about rooting in the dark ive not tried that,

Ive been watching loads of cloning vids and peoples techniques vary widely i guess i will just have to see how the babies get on but they do look pathetic like a wet lettuce.
I was only going to keep one of the pair of plants as a mother and use the other for clones so this was more of a test run really.
I was thinking of having maybe 16 clones vegging for about 2-3 weeks then putting them into flower while they are small as i only have a 1.2x1.2x1.8 tent with a 600w dual spectrum hps.

patience kph they can take up to 3 weeks mate.

hey i don't really know alot about clones, i've only rooted one :) I've worked with a couple after they've rooted.

4 days in the prop is no time, they could take a while longer yet so don't give up.

I took 8 clones of one plant as it was getting way taller and bushier than the other but after 4 days in a propagator they are as limp and lifeless as can be.
I tried to follow Jorge Cervantes tut in his vids as closely as possible but i fear they may be for the bin or do you think they may pickup?
I also have develloped a few leaves that have unusual marks,i have looked about for critters but cannot seem to find any.

Hello all. 36 days of vegging what i am hopeing to keep as mothers.
It just goes to show how hardy these plants are that not only are they still alive but beginning to thrive.They are now in 15 litre pots and seem well settled
As always any advice or comments are much appreciated.
And any advice about takeing clones and the care of them and mother plants would be a great help as i am aiming to start takeing clones within the next two weeks.

Hello Hash i hope you are well.
It is john innes that i am useing but i potted up into just a regular descent compost and they seem to be really coming on now.
I am after just keeping these two as mother plants and just flowering clones off them but am waiting another two weeks before i start taking cuttings.
They are both really compact but one stands about 14 inches and the other is about 11 so they should stand a good chance of handling my butchery.
I also have a few early skunk seeds for doing a outdoor grow which i will be germing next week.

Out of interest, what is the compost you're using? Some composts can only be used in the year of purchase (John Innes No1 for example) as the nutrient in them can become unbalanced.

Sturdy looking plants however.

As Mellow noted earlier, the plants show signs of too much fertiliser in their history (the burnt edges = too much fertiliser). Seeing as you haven't added extra fertiliser to the plants, we can conclude that the soil was pretty rich in the first place.

If you are going to pot up into a neutral medium like Promix or other unfertilised potting mixture, then Melvan has the right sort of idea about introducing soluble fertiliser.

If, on the other hand, you still have the same soil/compost at home that burnt your seedlings... don't add any extra fertiliser or nutrient solutions. It's obvious that the soil has enough fertiliser in it to sustain a few weeks growth.

Your plants will tell you when they are hungry. Personally, I don't think that your plants look like they are ''crying out" for anything. They seem to have got over the earlier burn from nitrogen rich soil and are approaching pot up time.

This is what a plant looks like when it really needs to get some fertiliser fast...



Note the yellow leaves around the bottom of the plant. If a plant doesn't get enough nitrogen from the soil it will pull it out of the older leaves to continue growing new leaves at the top of the plant. So the plant looks yellow at the bottom and then gradually more and more green towards the top.

I would give 1/4 strength of whatever veg feed you use. Transplant with only water. Then a 1/2 strength first feed in the big bucket, then water, then full strength.

Glad to see them recovering so nicely. I don't do any soil mixing. I don't know where you live, so Pro-Mix may be not be available as a brand name, but I'm 100% positive something just the same is around, just with a different name. It's just peat, perlite, and vermiculite, that's it. Pro-Mix is super forgiving, and has nothing in it unless you put it there with feeding. I've grown in it FOREVER and would never change to anything else.

Hello guys well they've managed to survive four weeks so far but i think
they are lagging behind were they should be due to the poor start they had and i think they may be starting to cry out for some nutes now what do you think?


They are only in 2.5 litre pots so i will be potting up into 15 litre pots this week as they are just about root bound in these smaller ones.
What N P K should i be looking to give them at this stage and it being their first feed?

With just after potting up i thought there would be enough nutes in the fresh soil and i was thinking of starting to give nutes a week or two after i move them into their final size of pots[which will be 15 litres]. Do you think that will be ok or should i start with the nutes before this?
I am still getting a little bit of brown on the ends of leaves and am a little unsure what could be causing it.
I had started watering with tap water again so i will revert back to rainwater and see if that makes any difference.

Hello i hope you all had a good week and weekend.
So here are a few pictures at 21 days from germ,
Photos taken just before i watered them since i hadn't done for two days as i think most of the early damage i did to the plants was probably down to over watering.
I also poted up to 2.5 litre pots last week as they were root bound in the 0.75 pots they were in.

They seem to be comeing on a lot better letting them dry out for a couple of days and then watering and getting stronger with each new set of leaves that grow so fingers crossed i don't bugger things up.
The tallest of the two is about 7 inches and the smaller about 6 inches but they would both be a inch taller but when i potted up i buried about a inch of the stem.
As always any advice would be much appreciated.

The new growth does seem to be looking a lot healthier to me since i got temps - watering and fans under better control but then again i still have trouble telling my arse from my elbow and still keep burning my backside testing my little girls bath water temp.
There seems to be a lot less damage to the new leaves compared to the first sets what do you guys think?


I was thinking of potting on within the next few days would you guys advise this and if so have you any advice regarding potting on as any advice is much appreciated.

I was wondering the same thing but being my first grow loads of different thoughts go racing through my head about possible causes and acid rain was one of them.
I actually googled the ph of rain water and it stated that it should be about 6 to 6.5.
I was thinking of getting a ph tester but what should i go for one for soil or one for water?
The thing is i thought the plants were a little slow and then once i starting giving them rain water instead of tap water they seem to have come on a bit or that may just be my imagination.

oh sorry i have noticed that most tap water comes out at around the right ph for soil growers, if ph was the cause of the leaves yellowing.
if you did use tap water you could fill a 2 litre bottle of it let it stand over night/warm up perfect size for 2 plants, and in theory be on the correct ph etc,

hi kph, when you do feed start nice and low, my Super skunk started to go mad for food about 30 days from seed, i wouldent think sensi super skunk would be miles away from your white label version,
infact virtualy the same probebly, the plants seem robust and able to take topping,clones etc with very little shock, very hardy indeed. check the ph on your rain water i believe it can be very acidic, i think a good ph for soil is around 6.5-7.0. good work so far, and its all about the new growth like sickle pointed out mate,,,CK

The fan is on ossilate but is is quite close due to the size of the area they are in but i have tried to adjust it so as not to give them that much of a gust.
The new growth does look healthier than the first set of leafs but this is probably down to me makeing adjustments to watering schedule-temps and fan direction i suppose i will just have to play it by ear and see how things progress,

I have managed to stabilise the temps now and they are rangeing from 27 to 18 ish and i have been giving them rain water that has been sat in the grow area to warm it up as to not shock them with cold water.
I have not given them any nutes yet as i thought they were a little young yet or am i wrong on that?
I have a oscillating fan that was also buffering them about quite a bit and was thinking they may have been suffering a bit of wind burn but being a complete novice i do not know what do you think?
Its very worrying being my first grow and my arse has already eaten a few pairs of undies worrying that i am doing something wrong that could kill them.
I must admit they do seem to have come on well over the last few days as i was thinking a few days back that they seemed to be under developed for their age.

Hey, they don't look to bad at all for your first grow.

I take it that is soil not coco? I've no idea really about soil, still trying to learn coco, lol.

I did have that burnt leaf thing on my first grtow, but they grew out of it. Hello all here are a few pictures of my first ever grow.Two super skunk feminised from white label 10 days after breaking out of the ground.
I have been struggling a bit with the range in temperatures but seem to have got things under control.
I also fear i may have been over watering what do you guys think from the evidence in the pictures?


Sorry about the quality of photos but i need a camera upgrade.
Any comments or advice would be much appreciated.

This is how i upload images.

Right click, your desk top, select "new folder".

Plug in your camera and cut and paste the images into the folder you have created.

move the mouse icon over the images to see how big they are, if you take them on the cameras best setting you'll need to resize them.

Right click the image on your desk top, select open with, paint should be an option. If not open paint, then open the image through paint.

there is a buttom called "resize" its top leftish, I resize mine 20%, the idea is that the image will be under 250kb file size, so for you it might be resize to 10% or 30%, have a play about with it.

So once the images are on your pc and the right size, you click the diagonal arrow in the sensi text box.

Then there is an icon of a tree, click that. You can then chose your image by looking in desktop for the folder you created, job done.

Hello Chris i hope you are well.
I have so much to learn and i will try and do so but i don't know if this damaged old bonce is capable but i always like a challenge.

Two are fine or seem so to me but the other one is a proper runt of the litter and if it survives i will name it Lazarus but seen as i am a atheist i do not believe it is going to happen.
Still need to get my head around being able to put photos on threads i have uploaded them to open in my file manager but from there on i do not have a clue.
I have only been using a computer for about 4 years after my son showed me how to switch it on i have taught myself through trial and error but mainly error.But i cannot really ask him for help as he's only 12.

Well for babby's i thinkj there are 2 main reasons they fall over.


1st is not enough water(they'll keel over as adulkts as well)

2nd is not enough asirflow(ossilating), I started off my last lot with out a fan, the top leave was to heavy for the stems and a few keeled over. I put some toothpick to soport them and carried on as noraamal.


I was told at the time though, if any plant keels over, then leave it to stand up on its own.

Hello cover i hope everything is hunky dory with you.
I don't know what the problem is with the little critter as the other two seem to be doing very well [but then again what do i know]
I have a 4 inch TT extraction fan and a 8 inch ossolateing fan next to a vent for air intake.
The oil filled radiator has a therostat which will only kick in once lights go out and temps drop below 20C.
Will just have to wait and see what happens with her.
Oh well i can but try and hopefully lady luck will be kind to me but that said the last time i bumped into her she kicked me in the nuts.

Hello all
So here goes my first ever grow and already i am having problems just 5 days from germination.
Three white label super skunk fem,Two are doing fine but one is really drooping her head and looking really sorry for herself.Propped her up a bit and tried to get her face to point towards the light as it was stood up straight apart from the top centimetre.they were all stood about 2 inches high so any ideas why she is shying away from the light?
Their under a 105 watt cfl which is about 4 inches above the top of the plants.
I have just put a oil filled radiator in with them as night temps were dipping to 9C as it is in a out building but dueing the day with the lights on it has been as high as 28C,Do you think this is what has caused her to start to wilt?
Their in a area i have set up for veg and then will be going in a 1.2 x 1.8 tent under a 600 watt hps dual spectrum bulb for the last two weeks of veg[if i make it that far] and then flower.
I will try and post some photos up within the next couple of days if i can suss out how to post photos.
Is there a tutorial or could someone give us a clue how to put pics on as i have been searching but cannot seem to find anything a bout it.
