all mix is ok for the first three weeks, then gradually start adding the biobizz nutes. start small and build it up but there are more factors then that.
you would be better of checking the forums, the info on here is gold. |

Keep an eye on the oldest leaves on the plant... when they begin to yellow, the plant has used all the available nitrogen in the soil. This is the time to either supplement nutrients or pot up into fresh all mix. If you pot up into fresh all mix there is no need to add nutrients, but watering the plant with a seaweed extract is a good idea. Keep a watch on the leaves for new signs of yellowing (if a leaf is already yellow before you pot up it wont get better, you need to watch for new leaves going yellow) that will tell you when the plant has again exhausted the available nitrogen. If you supplement nutrients, it's best practice to read the directions on the bottles and then give the plants 1/4 of the suggested strength. Gradually increase* the strength of the nutrients over an few feed cycles. *Never feed stronger than the suggested strength on the bottle. Keep watching the plants... if just the tip of the leaves turn brown (tip burn) and the plant is a very dark green, you are over feeding and need to reduce the strength of the nutrients. Flower nutrients aren't usually needed until about 3 weeks after you change to 12/12 lighting. For the first few weeks of 12/12 the plants are in transition from vegetative growth to flowering. This period is often called 'the stretch' because plants grow rapidly during transition. A vegetative nutrient is needed to support this flush of growth. Again watch your plants... this time watch for signs of flowering, once the plant is showing distinct clusters of pistils... about 3 weeks after the switch to 12/12 lighting, the plants need extra phosphorus and potassium. This is the point at which you generally need to change over to a flowering fertiliser. I don't use biobizz and don't know if you use them separately or mixed during flower, but if you watch your plants closely you will soon be able to tell by looking if they need feeding. I'm sure the biobizz website will have information about their specific products. |

I think what Sarah Louise wrote is the clearest and simplest thing i ever read about feeding!
i wish i read this before... :-) thanks SL! i use biobizz: i can humbly add something regarding biobizz. :-) next run start your plants in a lighter soil, such as light mix: all mix is too fertilized for young seedlings, i learnt this on my skin! i would use also root juice, another biobizz product - to be used from the very beginning and for the first week or so. really effective i think! do you have a biobizz chart? follow it with dosages and never exceed the upper limit as SL says. i don't feed at every watering, unlike biobizz people say and also they suggest to keep feeding the veg feed - biogrow - until harvest, insisting on the fact that biogrow contains molasses, sugars good for flowers. i don't actually do this: once i start feeding with flowering nutes, i keep using biogrow for some weeks and the last 3 - 4 weeks i don't give plants biogrow anymore. i found other people here and there that do exactly the same thing. topmax, the flower stimulator, is a really effective product (that's why it's so expensive!). follow biobizz advice: feed with biobloom and biogrow mixed together and after 10/15 minutes feed with topmax. the stimulator works better if given separately. biobizz folks are very nice and they always replied quikly to all my emails regarding any doubt i was having. if you are not sure, just write them! good luck! al. |

Thank you alsc, it takes a few drafts to get it that smooth. Clarity and brevity are the gods of the written word.
