Thanks for all the replies, I haven't thrown them away as I've invested a lot into them, but I will never use autos again!! Someone suggested that were the best option for a 1st timer, but personally I'd rather be in control rather than wondering will they? Won't they?

Someone asked for more info like pot size - 8 litre specialist soil have been using 400w hps lights 20/4 schedules. I have some pics if it would be useful. Just to reiterate they look really healthy growing well and sprouting vegetation but no sign of flowering.

My specific question is

1/ would switching my lights to 12/12 and slowly introducing bud nutes encourage them to start flowering?

Cheers.

Your plants will start flowering in the next week or two, 23 days is only 3.2 weeks, every auto ive grown has begun flowering at week 4 to 5(day28-35)... Your setup sounds spot on, maybe larger pots would help with the yield but none the less you are on track for a nice harvest.

In answer to your question, no, auto's will only flower when they reach a specific age... This is as i said around 4-6 week depending on the strain...

One of the hardest lessons to learn in this great hobby of ours is patience..

Thanks Sicklehand, they are auto white widow. I am happy with how the plants are developing, it's just everything I've read about them including the description on sensi seeds website says flowering should start in 2-3 weeks and after 25 days since germination there is no sign of flowering.

I will take your advice and give them 4-6 weeks and work on my (lack of) patience lol.

Not a problem mate.

I always take the descriptions given by seed company's with a pinch of salt, they are guidelines really, because there are many environmental factors that can speed up or slow down a plants development..

Enjoy your harvest.

Sensi's description actually says 3-4 weeks rather than 2-3.

Sensi have brought out a few new automatic strains since I was last online so I had to check the description... I had a feeling 2-3 weeks was too short. I hope you wll share some photos with us as your plants grow Strummer. Good luck!

Thanks Sarah Louise, I will gladly share some pictures with you, right now because the plants are growing so much I am wondering if it would be wise to trim some of the shade. I'd be interested to hear people's view on this.

I don't think I'll be using autos again as I'd rather control things myself, but if these ever flower I would definitely use sensi for fem seeds.

Here are some pics of my auto WW Day 26 since germination. I'd be interested in any comments/advice as to their condition. They have a lot of leaves which must be shading parts of the plant. Do people think I should trim some of the fan leaves?

Cheers.

Hello Strummer

I might have been a bit radical when I told you to dump them. If they're healthy, they will flower nicely. 8L isn't really large, but it's enough. Don't change the photo-period, keep them under 20-4, water them as slowly as possible, start using the flowering nutes along the growth nutes when they clearly show pistils and switch to full bloom nutrients gradually. Avoid using PK 13-14 or any other bloom booster as they're tricky to use, more so for a begginer grower.

I, personally, advise against trimming healthy foliage. It's an advanced technique and even among the excellent growers, the practice gives rise to argument.

I wish you all the best for your crop, if you have any questions, feel free to ask ok
We'll glady answer your questions to the best of our modest knowledge %3c3cig%3c20smile

Cheers, Prov
