Namaste friends - appreciate the kind words
btw - just as a disclaimer, those of you who are being encouraged to try this technique, please keep in mind that i'm not a congregational member from the "Church of LST" - on my first grow, so i'm personally saving my judgment about "training" for the end as far as the pics - bananaman - they're excellent, feel free to post because i'm probably torturing people making them watch green sticky paint dry on my wall regarding Ganja's question to you - "Odd to hear that you've found some intersexuality on your ERSB. Were they fully-formed male flowers, or single 'bananas'? If they were complete staminate flowers, were they in clusters or did they grow as individuals? And how many per plant?..." can cannabis plants develop like this? - very interesting if they do anyway, here are my pics taken day 53 Veg prior to readjusting the ties this is a pic of the gang - 7 plants
this is a pic of the ERSB i've been showing
for scale, i marked the edge of the container w/2 white dots - the container has a width of 12 in/31 cm - so the canopy width is about 18 in/46 cm, vertical height is about 10 in/25 cm this is a pic of that big bud plant
canopy width is around 14"/36 cm, vertical height is around 8"/20 cm both plants have around 18-20 secondary shoots which are pulled to the container edges i'm not bothering to count the smaller tertiary shoots for now in case they don't amount to much so, i plan to continue the training for 2 wks as suggested by Farmer Mick - to be honest everyone, definitely a lot of effort rquired doing this to 7 plants (i'm starting to turn to charcoal under the MH lamp - gotta love melanin - but now i'm resorting to taking each plant out of the grow space) if i end up liking training for personal use, i definitely would stick w/a smaller number of plants using clones i've now switched everyone to flower under 400 W HPS btw - MendocinoBay - i've been facing some dilemmas trying to evaluate "preflowers", i have my suspicions but a lot of times what i think is a "preflower" turns into another branch the next day - not sure what to make of it anyway - thanks everyone for the help - i guess we'll see what happens, and i'll keep you posted Om Namah Shivaya |

Nice going doc, they look very healthy. If the pre-flowers are not giving you a 100% indication of sex, you'll definitely be able to tell after two weeks under 12/12 light.

Hi Mister Ohm,
Looks Perfect! Congratulations! you will see in the next 10-15 days ,the female flowers appearing clearly.Very nice ,do not feed too much, maybe one flush will clean the soil from salts, the Ed look a bit bruned, and PH 6,2 is good for P K intake during flowering. |

Namaste everyone - i'm more than happy to post because whether you realize or not i have been learning most my growing info from you (& few "select" others past threads/posts - I owe you guys - thanks for help!) nice "burn" catch MendocinoBay - actually those spots you're seeing are from "accidental" foliar feeding w/human perspiration from leaning over plants to tie - no joke - much easier now that i'm taking plants out of the grow space (but unfortunatelly bad lighting for photos) - my pH is a tad below neutral, i'll try getting my pH lower w/minor pH adjustment when watering - acidic fruit juices readily available here - thanks for the advice Om Namah Shivaya |

i just wish the ISO went higher on my camera! would get rid of the noise creeping in. going back to the male flowers, it was single, or twin banana's coming from within the bud, I caught them just as they poked out so hopefully nothing has been seeded as yet. certainly nothing seems to have seeded so far fingers crossed. In terms of the number of banana's found, very few to date actually, and only on three of the five (i think?) eds I have growing, maybe two or three being the max and just one banana on another. so very low in numbers but still a shame as it means I have to keep a more watchful eye on them. I can fairly confidently rule out light leaks or stress, as im running two other strains, uk cheese clone x chocolate columbian and jack the ripper (pics below) the jack is completely free of any male parts where as the cross has hermi tendancies I knew about before which come from the columbian side, it has still been good as only one pheno threw out some bananas but these were maybe 2/3 in number, so not too bad. So far from a disaster but still somehting to keep an eye on. I have a scan of the male bits i pulled off, the very first ones i noticed so you can tell better what they are. JTR below.... ![]() ![]() cheese cross.... ![]() what i found.. ![]() |

Bananaman,
It is a very nice picture, if I can say ,I would'nt mind finding a few male sac, later on flowering,a plant has 9-12 way of becoming naturaly herma, some banana may not even release pollen, and if I can say again,on hundred strains that do not brings male clusters,I would rather choose one ERSB with bananas.... |

Hi bananaman, don't worry about the individual bananas that appear. Even if they do shed pollen, they usually grow towards the end of flowering, so they won't really affect your overall harvest. A question: On the left side of your second JTR pic, is that a few female flowers growing from the centre of a leaf??? Or am I just seeing things?
