Man that would be nice to have your own crop representin.

    I am having trouble posting pictures in a message and on my account. I believe that the Kbytes are too large. It said that it can only allow 100kb's. The Kbytes were over 2000 for my pictures. How do I fix this? I tried to follow the directions that Ganga gave at the begining, but I still couldn't figure out why my pictures will not load. Any help would be appreciated.

Download Picasa for free from Google.

Once installed, Picasa will catalogue all the pics on your computer and display them for you.

Then you can select a picture (or group of pics) for emailing.

In the 'Tools' menu of Picasa, select 'Options' , which takes you to a pop-up window.  Select the 'Email' tab in this window.

This allows you to set which email program will be used, as well as adjust the output options. There's a sliding scale which lets you resize pics to 1024 pixels, 800, 640, 480 etc. when they are mailed.

Once these are set, just select a pic or a group and click the 'Email' button at the bottom of the Picasa window. Your resized pics will appear in the 'attachments' section of an email.

You don't need to send the mail, just copy the resized pics from the email and paste them onto your desktop.

There are probably less convoluted ways of doing this, but I find the Picasa method very quick (and it doesn't affect original images)

The advantage of a program designed to reduce file-sizes is that it should give you the option of selecting the size of the output in kb, not just the number of pixels/physical size (as with Picasa).

PS - No-one should worry about missing the opening date of the contest.
A very clear announcement will be made when conditions, prizes and dates are finalised. Perhaps even a mass PM.

Couple more weeks and ill have some pics sent in for this competition ^^
