Synthetically CBD can be isomerized to THC by refluxing in cyclohexane and adding sulfuric acid dropwise.

That sounds like the recipe used by the old ISO-2 isomeriser. You used to be able to find ads for it in the back of High Times in the Seventies and early Eighties.

I think most people just used it as a solvent-based oil extractor, with just a few following the instructions properly and using H2SO4.

While its possible the turn CBD into THC with knowledge of chemistry and the appropriate equipment, this is not really a process that the average grower is willing/able to do. Easier to get a plant to do the production and conversion of cannabinoids!
