Hydro & Hemp Expo 2006 Event Cancelled.

Unfortunately, due to the Board of Directors at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry, this years UK Hydro & Hemp show has been cancelled.
Despite having complete access to the exhibitors list from the offset, the board of the arena have chosen this; the last minute, to notify us.
The reason we have been given by the board for cancelling the show, lies within certain recent media coverage within the UK and there connection with certain exhibitors. Their reasons: Unhappy with certain exhibitors and their products.
The local Constabulary were contacted by Ricoh for their advice - the Police had no concerns with the event going ahead - as long as it were managed correctly. The decision to cancel the event was taken solely by the Directors of the Board and not Ricoh staff.
Weed World ltd, deeply regret this u turn in policy and will be refunding in full, anyone who has a stand booked.
Ricoh Arena have promised to refund all exhibitors who have booked a hotel room at the arena.
We are deeply concerned for exhibitors/stall holders alike, an awful lot of work has gone into the preparation and promotion of this event. We are at hand to listen to your queries and empathise with you wholly.
Unfortunately, as with all events of this ilk - Directors have the last say, we have tried contesting this decision - sadly to no avail.
We at Weedworld are indebted to you for your support over the last few months and I wish to express my profuse apologies for the massive inconvenience caused to you.

II EDITION – BOLOGNA, JUNE  2-3-4  2006

It is with great pleasure that we announce the 2nd Cannabis tipo fort fair, the Italian fair which promotes the medicinal , recreational and industrial uses of hemp.

After the success of the first fair we have decided to make Cannabis tipo forte an annual event, and to transfer, what started off last year as a small event ,into  an important , international event.

It’s time to show better also in Italy the  cannabis market, trying to explain the many uses of this miraculous plant, in the past a traditional pride for our economy, and to create a meeting point for all cannabis realities, that only in appearance are in contrast each other, as the industrial use of cannabis, and the reacreational / medical uses.

We hope, above all, to use the occasion to discuss the most recent developments in the Italian legal system vis-a-vis soft drugs. These developments, which are to say the least both a little confusing and embarrassing, for those making the laws and those affected by these laws.

We also hope to use this opportunity to allow people the chance to get to know our country better, which, notwithstanding the difficult times we are going through, is still a country populated by people who want nothing more than to live life to the full.

We have therefore fixed the date for the event as the first weekend in June, allowing visitors and participants the chance to a country in full bloom, where one can enjoy the wonderful Medditteranean climate, our wonderful, and world-renowned cuisine, sunshine and seaside and the beauty of the Italian people of all ages, shapes and sizes!

After last year in Pescia, we have decided to to hold this year’s fair in Bologna. An beautiful, northern Italian city with thousands of yewars of history behind it. Bologna sits on an histroical cross-roads and as such is easy to reach by aeroplane, car, bus and train..

The fair will take place in a new hall near the Bolgona Trade Fair Hall (Fiera di Bologna), where we will have a 3,000m2 at our disposal thus allowing more exhibitors and more visitors than ever before.

There will be:
- the most important international producers in the hemp market
- meetings and discussions regarding the medical benefits and uses of cannabis
- an exhibition of 1960’s psychedelic art (with over 250 pieces on show, this will be the biggest exhibition of its type to take place in Italy);
- free spaces to be made available to cultural organisations and non-profit making organisations to have their voice heard
- a fashion show with designs made from hemp;
- a large chill-out zone with 2 bars and a restaurant; as well as a space for Reiki one space dedicated to juggling, and an area where one can learn about the uses and the pleasures of hookahs.
- a thick audience! We are sure about it, and we choose the new place for the exhibition in the city of bologna, (a city famous for its large part of students and young people) representative  the italian  scene, a market that we should consider still virgin, and, if stimulated has more potential also compared to countries that today are forward to us regarding the cannabis culture (for example, Spain).

This letter has the purpose to reach all of you  who are leader in the cannabis industry , to inform about the birth of this new and important project.
