Indicas tend to grow shorter and when flowered from clone end up around 1-2 foot tall, stacked in close you get a sea of green carpet.

You have two choices, bbq gas burners or a solanoide injection sysyem conected to a food grade bottle, like the post mix gas bottles.

Do some more reasearch before deciding what is best for your application.

in closing i have always used injectors and burners and found them to roughly give me an extra 20 percent, but there is a bit of fine tunning to deal with,so be patient and read up.

good luck . sticky.

Indoor Growing : indoor generators?

    Author: Sticky
Subject: indoor generators?
Posted: 10 September 2006 at 03:51

Hi Gi Dro

If your talking about petrol generators, The small portable ones arent designed to run 18 hrs straight, They over heat and drink massive amounts of oil to keep them humming, they are loud as well, and after 3 months of continues use tend to get louder?

Dont waiste your time with anything smaller than a 5kva output model they are generally 5 HP and run on unleaded, still loud thoue a 4 stroke motor is used and they cant help but sound like a lawn mower engine a sit on size .

They dont start to get quiet until you invest in a 10HP with cooling and a muffler system, they come built in a frame and fit in the back of a ute.

Then theres the trailer mounted models that can produce 50-80 thousand Kva, these babys are compleatly muffled and liquide cooled they have timers and key starts and can be moved around easily.

Then theres the big 6 cyl models with bearing compressors and these are diesel jobs
They can produce up to 100,000 KVA and are mounted on the floor in frames or free standing, the can weigh a tone with housing and supports, But will ree start if it ever stops and has full timer and up to 50 3 phase female connections from its own circuite board and relay, The ducks guts, one might say, And if your reading this and using one My full respect goes out to you for having the balls.Lol LOl Lol.

So the answer is the smaller the more of a nightmare generators can be, Dont get sucked in to thinking these small camping ones are suitable for our cause, Its the more you spend the more you get theory, Oh and you dont want one of these things anywhere near your room they blow smoke and choke up ocasionaly which means you will have to set the hours to when you can be there for restarts and fuel top ups,or customize the fuel tank to suit.

All in all generators arent easy and if you only want to run a couple of lights,i wouldnt bother with one.

Hope this helps

Sticky
Author: Sticky
Subject: Need Advice on Grow Room for medical MJ Please!!!!
Posted: 10 September 2006 at 01:52

Hi Kedm,

Ok" Man thats a lot of questions, i will try and start you of.

Cellars are great places to grow, Depending on how old they are, Some times they can have rising damp issues and mold infections, so a good place to start is to clear the room of everything and spray a diluted strong mix of dettol and hot water, And man i mean spray all the corners and walls till they are dripping with the solution.

If your floor is brick or concreate, Build a floor across the area you plan on growing on, Wood works well, You want to jack the floor up about 30cm above the cold floor, Use pine to lift it up, then in the floor cavity pop a couple of electric blankets down covering the area the plants will grown above, Seal the floor with 2 layers of plastic so no leaks thrue the timber floor onto the electric blanket ?

This will do two things it will stop rising damp prevent root rot and generally offer a nicer warmer platform to grow on, not to mention cut down on wet humidity levels, Which can be a bitch when your growing your favourite indica only to notice mold thrue the bud on inspection.

A thermostat connected to a oil heater will come in handy when lights are of 22 is a great temp to maintain during lights out.

You would be mad not to install a carbon filter system, hang it high and duct it out of the room,

A nother duct inn will be needed for fresh air and if you can suck it in from a heated area like your rooms above, during winter keep that room well heated and you wont ever have a prob with cellar mold.

Your right about the lights Mh 400 to veg Fluro for your clones, and why not just grab a nother 630 w sont for your flowering, You can veg your mothers under fluro, once the HID lights hit them they will come back strong.

I would build your room then start vegging some seeds under your 400w MH throw a 630 w sont in as well and start looking for a female with strong genetics Health, and start clonning, keep a couple of females until you know which one is producing the best bud .

Good luck the two areas sound great aswell, just make shore your rooms are light tight, and can be run on diffrent cycles with no leaks ,use wooden frames as the tent is built around them in thick black white plastic,No leaks is the key here.

Sticky
Author: Sticky
Subject: Big Bud in aero
Posted: 29 August 2006 at 13:18

Hey attila99, Welcome to the forum.

Ok'' Man, I think its fair to say, A good airoponic system can produce amazing growth both veg and flower.

The best Results i have had were from a Home made bubbler, Which is a flood and drain Table with Expanded clay as the medium, Using air stones as the main Air supply to the roots

Its a very easy system to set up Have drainage in the tray, a small 19ml tap will do fine,
Now the tricky thing here is that the root systems are always submerged in the nutrient While being turbo charged by the air pump and the air stones, the larger the air pump the better, You want to really here it bubble, Ok you want to set the level by half of the trays depth then cover the air stones with expanded clay to the top, Make shore your air stones are sitting in position before pouring the rocks over them You can drill in a couple of 13 ml hoses at each end recurculating into a 50 ltr res which can go under the table out of the light, but easy to get to and drain.

I would recomend a short indica for this progect, and set up a sea of heads, each plant will need its own air stone.

Its a bit of work but works Amazingly well.

There are other systems that are a lot easier to build Nft as ganga mentioned is the commercial growers choice, No more medium dumps and exellent results.

But over all plants love air pumped thrue them, Reservouirs should always be bubbling hard, and a air stone say under a medium like rock wool or perlite gives healthy lush heavy plants, They dont seem to wilt as much when in the dark, even sativa plants dont tend to droop as much.

Good luck .

Sticky
